An Engaging Learning Community

Students improve their English in the SEI Community

Classes at SEI are unlike anything students have ever experienced. At SEI, we believe learning should be engaging, active, participatory, and fun! Because students are so engaged in their classes, not only does their English improve tremendously, but they build confidence and critical 21st century skills, which we call the 6 C’s and Leadership:

  • Communication Skills
  • Critical Thinking
  • Collaboration
  • Creativity
  • Cultural Awareness
  • Computer/Technology Competence
  • Leadership
Specialization by Age and English Level

All SEI students are separated into middle school and high school groups, and further separated by English level ability (beginner, intermediate, advanced). This allows each student to be challenged to learn and practice English at the appropriate speed with the appropriate content.

Interest-Based Learning

Because all students learn better when studying something they are interested in, many of our SEI classes and experiences give choices to students. Students in an interest-based learning environment are extremely motivated and learn at very high levels.

Types of Classes

SEI includes both English Core and English Elective classes. Core English classes include focus on reading, writing, speaking, and listening.  Elective English classes continue to work on improving students’ English ability while focusing on a wide range of interesting topics.

Classes at SEI

School Preparation Track

The School Preparation Track prepares international students entering American schools to be equipped to succeed and contribute on day #1 of classes at their new school.

Over 30 private American high schools and nearly 400 students have had their international students attend the School Preparation Track at SEI before beginning classes. This specialized preparation gives students a tremendous advantage over other international students who do not attend SEI.
